TECON is located within the installations of the Port of Rio Grande super-port, which is located within a radius of 500 nautical miles (from Buenos Aires to Paranaguá) and is the central geographic point that offers the deepest draft for ships to operate in, which is 40´ deep. These factors give it the credentials to make it the container terminal of Mercosur. Located at 32°, 07´ and 20” of southern latitude, and 52°, 05´, and 36” of longitude west of Greenwich, it is the southernmost point of the sea in Brazil, located on the west shore of the north canal, which is the natural outlet of the entire Lagoa dos Patos watershed.
