“Solutions in port operations for the customer, seeking to be the most efficient terminal in the market”
Tecon obtained NBR ISO9002:1994 certification in 2000, which is evidence that the Terminal has a management system that is based on fulfilling the requirements of the regulations and operational standards that are internally defined.
This certification was valid for 3 years, and during the period periodic audits were performed for it to be maintained.
On 07/31/2003, Tecon was audited and certified by BVQI regarding the NBR ISO 9001:2000 standard, and then an external audit was performed to verify the suitability of the processes and their compliance to the standard of work that was established. Knowledge about the company’s Quality Policy was also checked, as well as the effectiveness of the processes, in order to attain continual improvement.
Tecon’s quality auditing policy is that of carrying out internal audits of all the processes every 6 months, and the last to be performed are for maintaining SET (the Tecon Company System, or Sistema Empresarial Tecon ).
In order to maintain the certification, the company must follow these principles: meeting the customers’ requirements effectively thus increasing their satisfaction, leadership based on well-defined goals and targets, commitment of personnel, identifying the processes, showing the relation between them, defining how each process will work and defining how the results will be measured, creating a relation of partnership with suppliers, making decisions based on facts, and always improving with a focus on the customers’ satisfaction.
